The People Behind the Studio

At the end of the day, great music education isn’t just about methodology or curriculum—it’s about the people in the room. We believe that teaching music means showing up fully for each student: listening to where they are, celebrating their progress, and pushing them toward what they’re capable of. We’re not here to run a factory. We’re here to build relationships, nurture growth, and help students fall in love with music.

So who are we? Glad you asked.

Jimmy Pinzón

Co-Founder & Instructor
Clarinet • Saxophone • Piano • Percussion
Composition • Music Theory • Music Literacy

Jimmy holds a Bachelor of Music Education in Instrumental Music from Harding University, where he also studied composition under Dr. Jay Walls and received mentorship from renowned composers Frank Ticheli and Matthew Maslanka. He’s been teaching private lessons for nearly eight years and has worked with students and schools across the country, bringing his passion for music education wherever he goes.

Teaching isn’t his only love—Jimmy is also a composer, celebrating 10 years in the field in 2026. He’s the founder of HORYZIN Music Publishing (established in 2017), a company built on the philosophy of democratizing access to professional music tools and supporting composers with integrity and generosity. His work has been performed nationally and internationally, and he’s deeply embedded in the contemporary music community as a member of the Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers.

When he’s not teaching or composing, Jimmy’s probably outdoors—he’s an Eagle Scout and avid hiker who’s traveled across Europe, the Middle East, and South America. He’s also an amateur novelist and night photographer. His faith serves as the foundation for all his creative work, and he brings that same sense of purpose and care into every lesson he teaches.

Why Jimmy teaches:

“Music changed my life. It taught me discipline, creativity, and what it means to work toward something bigger than myself. I want every student who walks into my studio to experience that same transformation—not just as musicians, but as people.“

Kaycee Pinzón

Co-Founder & Instructor
Violin • Viola • Music Literacy

Originally from West Plains, Missouri, Kaycee is a proud alumna of Harding University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in violin performance and pedagogy. She studied privately for over a decade with Ms. Danyal Sallee and later with Ms. Leigh Wing during her college years. Her training also includes masterclasses with distinguished artists like Dr. David Hays, concertmaster of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, and Dr. Larry Dissmore of Evangel University.

Kaycee has performed with a wide range of ensembles, including the Southern Ozarks Youth Orchestra, SOYO chamber ensembles, and several Harding University groups. She’s also had the honor of collaborating with both the Springfield and Arkansas Symphony Orchestras. But for Kaycee, music has always been about more than performance—it’s about connection.

Passionate about helping others discover the joy of music, she’s especially drawn to working with young students and watching them grow not only as musicians but as confident, thoughtful individuals. Her teaching style is warm, patient, and deeply invested in each student’s unique journey.

Why Kaycee teaches:

“There’s nothing quite like watching a student have that ‘aha’ moment when something finally clicks. Music has given me so much joy, and I feel incredibly blessed to share that with others.“

Together, We're
Building Something Special

As co-founders of Pinzón Music Studio, Jimmy and Kaycee are building more than a business—they’re building a mission. They believe that every student deserves teachers who see their potential, celebrate their progress, and genuinely care about who they’re becoming. Music lessons aren’t just an hour a week—they’re an investment in character, creativity, and confidence.

But here’s the thing: they’re also realists. They know their approach isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. As a Blue HORYZIN business, our mission is to make music education accessible—not to hoard students or compete for enrollment. If the Pinzón Music Studio isn’t the right fit for you, we’ll gladly help you find someone who is. Searcy is full of talented educators, and we’d rather see you thriving somewhere else than struggling here.

If you’re looking for teachers who will love your student, challenge them, and help them grow into the best version of themselves, we’d love to meet you.
